Gallery Description

The paintings in this gallery are different from the other paintings because they use the collaging method of encaustic painting. I use images of my ancestors in these portraits and create personal narratives about them using bits of ephemera, buttons, keys, old jewelry and watch parts to bring a part of them to the work. The beeswax acts as a glue to hold the objects and the ideas together.
