The paintings in this website are painted in the encaustic method. The word and method of encaustic dates back to ancient Greece and it literally translates to burn in. The process involves the melting of bees wax with the addition of the pigments then fusing it to a support. This installation using encaustic is called Cherry Blossom Sky and was installed at the Harrison Center in 2011. If in the Indianapolis area, visit the Harrison Center for the Arts, Reclamation or Editions Ltd. to see the work.
