Datura stramonium flowers open at night, emitting a pleasant fragrance, and are fed upon by nocturnal moths. Datura has been used in traditional medicine to relieve asthma symptoms and as an analgesic during surgery or bone setting. It is also a powerful hallucinogen and deliriant, which is used as an entheogenic ally for the intense visions it produces. In “Datura Dancing,” flowers and flower fairies are seen dancing while a younger flower maiden watches from the sidelines. She has her silky arms folded around her as if she is gaining awareness of her powerful beauty yet a little afraid of the power.
