The sound of the wood thrush is the most enchanting of the forest birds. Its heavy melodic sound makes the places it inhabits feel like you have ventured into a fairytale world. This painting took me many years to bring to a place of completion. The shelf mushrooms created a secondary focal point and have been a subject I have loved to draw and paint for years.
